It's been quite a year--I initially got back into quilting (after a six-year absence) to deal with an incredibly stressful tenure situation (which isn't resolved, but that's neither here nor there). I have found a lot of inspiration, community, and satisfaction in the online quilt-o-sphere, and what better way to celebrate that than with a giveaway of my own?
I'm going to be giving away TWO--that's right, TWO--fabulous prizes!
Number one:
I have some leftover bits from my Kona challenge classic charm pack--I have a stack of 2 1/2-inch squares that I don't have plans for, so: For this prize, I will baste those squares into 1-inch hexagons before I send them along, and you'll get a rainbow stack of hexagons ready for a project! Just like this one:
Number two:
My LQS always has some treasures that are out-of-print, and this one is no exception. For this prize, I'm offering one yard of fabric--four fat quarters of Luna II by Maywood Studios. These luscious chocolates will make a delicious little treat, or a lovely addition to your stash!
You'll get one chance to enter for each prize--I'll keep separate lists and use a random-number generator to pick the winners. To enter, comment and tell me what you'd like to do with each prize: for example, if you tell me you'd like to make a mug rug out of the hexagon prize, that counts as an entry on the hexagon list!
If you'd like to enter for both prizes, you can include your plans in a single comment. (I'm using 'plans' quite loosely, here--if your immediate plans include nothing more than petting the pretty fabric, that counts!)
I'd appreciate if y'all would spread the news of my little giveaway--or not, if you want a better chance of winning! *g*
The giveaway will close on Saturday, August 27th, at midnight CST. Please make sure you aren't a no-reply blogger, or if you are, please leave an email address where I can contact you to arrange for your prize.
A big thank-you to everyone who has made this year a good quilty one for me, and I'm looking forward to next year!
I would love to have those pretty hexagons. I would make some rainbow pillows!
ReplyDeleteThe chocolate fabric is delicious looking! I would use it with some pink to make a yummy quilt. Congrats on the blogaversary and thanks for the fun giveaway!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your anniversary! The chocolate fabric would be great in a scarf or two or as additions to my current FWQAL quilt!
ReplyDeletethose hexies would be perfect for a gradient hexie purse!
ReplyDeleteThe luna fabric would be ADORABLE in a baby quilt...they're so warm toned...not pastel-y like most baby stuff. CUTE!!
ReplyDeleteYou are only a month or so behind me. The blog has brought me great pleasure as I'm sure it has you. All my best wishes for many years more.
ReplyDeleteNever tried a hexagon quilt but never is a long time. Chocolate fabric?...what's not to like with no calories.
*showers you in confetti* Congrats on a fab first year :) You've made some beautiful things and really inspired me.
ReplyDeleteI think I would add the hexagons to the charm pack of solids I recently bought and make a solid hexy mini-quilt. I've never done paper piecing, so it'd be a great chance to try!
I want to wish you an incredible happy one year!! I've never played with Hexegons so am drawing a blank, but that Luna II is really making me drool!! I would love to make a puff quilt with them!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to use the hexagons to make hot pads and the beautiful fabric to make a quilt! Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeletehas anyone else read "dare to be square quilting"? i would use these browns to finally give me enough brown fabric to make the amazingly adorable wiener dog play mat. and those hexies? too cute! i don't know what i'd do with them. probably lay them all out on my desk and move them around endlessly without ever actually deciding what to do with them. does that count?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a year of blogging! We are all richer for your contribution to the quilting community. :) The Luna II fabric is gorgeous and I would be thrilled to win them. You must be gearing up for the school year.... good luck with you new crop of students. I start back next week and can't wait.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your blogaversary!! The hexagons would make a wonderful rainbow spiral with black hexagons added as the 'alternate spiral' (if that makes sense) - sort of two spirals. VermontPines@aol.com
ReplyDeleteSome solid blue, some solid white...my head is spinning with all the possibilities for the Luna fqs. Congratulations on a year of blogging! VermontPines@aol.com
ReplyDeleteLove the fat quarters. I would use them for a baby quilt. Congratulations on your anniversary.
ReplyDeleteRealised I forget to say what I'd do with the brown! I'd really like to do a simple quilt along, but am a few fabrics short and these would fit perfectly with my palette :)
ReplyDeleteThose hexies would definitely go into my hexie charm quilt that requires something like 1700 hexies or so! Congratulations on the blogaversary!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the blogiversary! Just stopped by from freshly pieced. I commend your hand quilting. The hexies are super fun!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I almost forgot about your giveaway! You've seen my stash, so you know exactly what would happen to the chocolates. But in a good way! As for the hexies, I've always wanted to try a project with them, I just haven't had the ambition to, you know, MAKE them. I'd probably just turn them into a mini quilt for my wall.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your blogging anniversary - I just found you via Piecemeal Quilts' blog. I would love either - I would make a cushion cover with the hexes and I might try my new Twister ruler with the Luna FQs.
ReplyDeleteFor the record, I can't of anything better suited to dealing with a tenure case gone awry than quilting - how horrible for you and I hope you get it resolved to your satisfaction. (I got ulcers every time I had to go through promotion through the ranks - the worst!)
Congratulations on a year of blogging! I'm fairly new to blogging (started my blog this year), and also fairly new to quilting. Although when I tell folks I made my first quilt 6 years ago, they don't think I'm a "new" quilter, but I've only made 5 or 6 more quilts since then, so to me, I'm still new. Anyway, not sure I want to get into hexies cuz I'm still learning (but of course that would make me step even further outside my comfort zone), but I'd love those fat quarters. Oh my -- they're all beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHappy blogiversary!! I'd love those hexies and the fat quarters...first to pet and then to make something cute! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on one year of blogging. I would use the hexagons to make a doll quilt for my granddaughter. Those lovely chocolate fat quarters would make a great table runner for my dinning room table.
ReplyDeleteI'd love the hexies because I have never worked with them before - that would be so much fun! I would love the fabric because I collect beautiful fat quarters :) Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteThe hexies would make lovely additions to my flower garden and the FQs would make a very pretty Mill House Inn tote.
ReplyDeleteBeen wanting to do a hexie project... and the fabrics, love just looking at them, but I'm thinking a bag or tote would be great!
ReplyDeletethose hexies would work great for my niece's birthday... colours fit in with an already planned idea.
ReplyDeleteAnd the fabrics - are beautiful... can I just hold them... before deciding how to cut them
Congratulations on your 1st blogiversary. May there be many more. I know that quilting is a stress reliever for me. I have to admit that it can also cause some stress as well. The hexagons are gorgeous and I would love to make a doll quilt with my daughter. The fabrics are also gorgeous and I would probably use them to make a tote bag.
ReplyDeleteI love hexies. And those rainbow ones are wonderful! I do not think I have any solid hexies made right now....hmmmm might have to change that.
ReplyDeleteChocolate fabric, well that is nice as well. I am not sure what I would make but maybe more hexies? My youngest would want the fabric with the pink though.
Congrats on the anniversary.
I would love to make a baby quilt with the choc fat quarters. I have to make a couple girl quilts for the end of the year.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on the Sewn Quilt along and have chosen my colors to be turquoise, red/orange and white, but I've discovered that there is no Punch - so I can see adding those delicious chocolaty pieces to it.
ReplyDeleteFor the hexagons? Hm...I think a beautiful small tote bag would just be perfect for toting around quilting and embroidery projects.
I'm loving the Fat Quarters. PS I discovered you through Piecemeal Quilts blog. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe rainbow hexies would be perfect for the tea cosy cover I have on my list. Can you tell I'm Canadian - we love our hot tea.
ReplyDeleteThe fat quarters - yum - I have other brown yardages that I need just a bit more to make into a quilt.
thanks for the giveaway
Pam
Both prizes are wonderful, thank you for the generous giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI have to be honest and say that I have no idea what I would do with them, but the fat quarters are just beautiful! I am sure I would come up with something.
ReplyDeleteI would love the fabric :)
ReplyDeleteI would like to make some fabric canvas wall art for my bedroom :)
